The ever-increasing volume of traffic makes it necessary to secure construction sites on a larger scale especially considering that legal requirements in terms of liability in case of accidents and damage resulting from inappropriate securing have been tightened drastically in many countries in the last few years.In order to reroute traffic, it is common practice to set up beacons made up of flashing lights connected in series which, in fact, is quite complex. With IWARN®, complexity of this task is reduced to a minimum. Owing to its patented cross-shaped design already one IWARN® can replace a row of flashing lights simply by activating arrow mode in this IWARN® unit.
REMOTE MONITORING & TELECONTROL
IWARN® is construction site light 4.0. For the first time, the integrated GSM and GPS features enable the exchange of data or control commands. This means that every construction company can monitor the exact position of each of their construction site lights on a screen and get feedback from them on the type of flashing mode enabled at the moment or on battery status, for instance. At the same time, the light signal can be telecontrolled from the construction company’s headquarters. The construction site model of IWARN® comes with a special anti-theft sensor. It allows indicating immediately the unlawful remo-val of the device on the construction company’s computer and tracing electro-nically the stolen light on a map.
PASSING THE ACID TEST
Various tests proved spectacularly the reasonableness of IWARN® as construc-tion site light. The videos on the left and below show the same prototype of an IWARN® construction site light installed for days to secure major construction work in front of the opera house in Graz. It allowed merging traffic reliably from three lanes to just one lane. Owing to its strong light IWARN® is running in “city mode” (compared to “overland mode”, luminous power is reduced by approx. 50 %) to avoid dazzling of road users.
SECURING OF CONSTRUCTION MACHINES
IWARN® is also perfect for the temporary securing of stationary and moving construction machines which may pose a risk to other road users and pedestrians when moving.
PROTECTION OF CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
Similar to the IWARN® model for the police, IWARN® can be worn also by construction or track workers using a special netted vest. This makes the protection of persons very effective especially when carrying out work at night on dangerous construction sites on motorways or railway tracks.
